【摘要】:Thepracticemaybeusedtoaccomplishseveralends:tocomparedetectorsbeforepurchase;asademonstrationbythevendorthattheequipmentisperformingproperlytoaminimalstandard;orforaperiodicverificationofdetectorperformanceafterpurchase.Thispracticeestablishestheminimumperformancethatisrequiredforadetectortobeconsideredeffectiveinthedetectionoftraceexplosives.Anexplosivesdetectorisconsideredtohavex201C;minimumacceptableperformancex201D;whenithaspassedalloftheevaluationtestswithoutafailure.Thispracticeusesthreeexplosivecompoundsx2014;RDX,PETN,andTNTx2014;thatareusedtorepresentnitro-basedcompoundshavingarangeofphysicalandchemicalproperties.Theconcentrationsofthesolutionsofexplosivehavebeendeterminedtobesufficienttoprovideapositivedetectoralarmsignal.Intime,othercompoundsmaybeaddedorsubstitutedintothispracticeasdetectionprioritiesdictate.ThispracticewasdevelopedusingIMS-basedtraceexplosivesdetectors,butthispracticeshouldalsobeapplicabletoanyexplosivesdetectordesignedtoanalyzetracelevelsofhigh-explosivecompoundscollectedonswipes.Thispracticedoesnotincludeprocedurestotestforcompoundsthatmayinterferewithdetectorperformance.Thispracticedoesnottesttheminimumlimitofdetectionorthedynamicrangeofthetraceexplosivesdetector.Thispracticedoesnottestforcompoundsotherthanhighexplosives.Thispracticeonlyevaluatestheresponseofthedetectortotracesofpureexplosivecompounds.1.1Thispracticeisprimarilyintendedtoassistfirstrespondersandsecurityscreenersinverifyingtheminimumacceptableperformanceofdetectorsusedtoidentifytracesofhighexplosivessuchascyclotrimethylenetrinitramine(RDX),pentaerythritoltetranitrate(PETN),andtrinitrotoluene(TNT).Theseexplosivedetectorsmaybebasedon,butarenotlimitedto,ionmobilityspectrometry(IMS).1.2Thispracticeisusedtoevaluatethedetectorresponsetoevaporatedresiduesoflow-concentrationsolutionsofexplosivecompoundsplacedontestswipes.Thesolutionsusedforthisevaluationarepreparedinasuitableorganicsolventandcontainasinglehighexplosive.1.3Thispracticedoesnotaddressorusesamplingprocedurescommontotheuseoftraceexplosivedetectors.Itonlyteststheresponseofthedetectoronceatestswipehasbeensuccessfullyintroducedintotheexplosivedetector.1.4Thispracticedoesnotevaluatetheeffectofcontaminantsorinterferencesthatmaybeencounteredinsamplingfortraceexplosivesinthefield.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
