【摘要】:Thistestmethodisconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingwhenthelevelsofthelaboratoriesarecontrolledbytheuseofthesamereferencestandardcottonsamplesbecausethecurrentestimatesofbetween-laboratoryprecisionareacceptableundertheseconditions.Iftherearedifferencesofpracticalsignificancebetweenreportedtestresultsfortwolaboratories(ormore),comparativetestsshouldbeperformedtodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweenthem,usingcompetentstatisticalassistance.Asaminimum,ensurethetestsamplestobeusedareashomogeneousaspossible,aredrawnfromthematerialfromwhichthedisparatetestresultswereobtained,andarerandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.Thetestfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingastatisticaltestforunpaireddata,ataprobabilitylevelchosenpriortothetestingseries.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrected,orfuturetestresultsforthatmaterialmustbeadjustedinconsiderationoftheknownbias.Fibrographmeasurementsprovidearelativelyfastmethodfordeterminingthelengthandlengthuniformityofthefibersinasampleofcottoninareproduciblemanner.ResultsoftheFibrographlengthtestsdonotnecessarilyagreewiththoseobtainedbyothermethodsformeasuringlengthsofcottonfibersbecauseoftheeffectoffibercrimpandotherfactors.Fibrographtestsaremoreobjectivethancommercialstaplelengthclassificationsandalsoprovideadditionalinformationonfiberlengthuniformityofcottonfibers.Thecottonqualityinformationprovidedbytheseresultsisusedinresearchstudiesandqualitysurveys,incheckingcommercialstaplelengthclassifications,inassemblingbalesofcottonintouniformlots,andforotherpurposes.Fibrographmeasurementsarebasedontheassumptionsthatafiberiscaughtrandomlyalongitslength.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofthelengthandlengthuniformityofcottonfibersbyuseofphotoelectricmeasurement.Thetestmethodisapplicabletofiberstakenfromraworpartiallyprocessedcotton(uptocardmat)orsometypesofcottonwaste,butnottofibersfromblendsofcottonwithotherfibersortofibersrecoveredfromcottonyarns,fabricsorto100%systheticfibers.1.2ThistestmethodisespeciallyadaptedfordeterminingthelengthandlengthuniformityofcottonfibersbymodelsoftheDigitalFibrograph,hereafterreferredtoasFibrograph.Note18212;InstructionsfortheuseofManualandServoFibrographModelswereincludedinthetextofTestMethodD1447in1971andpreviouseditions.Note28212;ForothermethodscoveringthemeasurementofthelengthofcottonfibersrefertoTestMethodD1440.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

Scope:This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) provides a description of a screening method for use in the field for verifying an AMS 1428 anti-icing fluid is above its minimum low shear viscosity as published with holdover time guidelines. The test will determine if the fluid is (a) satisfactory, (b) unsatisfactory, or (c) borderline needing more advanced viscometry testing.
